We're looking for a Director of Strategy & Creative who can provide senior leadership in our studio, ensuring we deliver powerful employee and customer engagements. This role is obsessed with manifesting ways a brand or cause can mobilize people to achieve a goal they could never tackle alone.

As the lead of the services team you’ll be responsible for the quality of Context Partners’ work. That includes everything from developing project briefs to directly shaping deliverables to stewarding client experiences. Working with the team of researchers, strategists and community managers you’ll develop their skill set and work directly with clients.

Integral to the role will be the ability to guide the use of our methodology while integrating cutting edge approaches from various design disciplines. This role gets out of bed in the morning to bring Context Partners’ unique point of view to life through our portfolio.


You bring a mix of proven expertise and curiosity to everything you do. Your proven ability to identify a client’s true opportunity and figure out how their employees and customers can help is your strength. You elegantly navigate between process and improv to ensure the work doesn’t veer from its intent. Your intuition and your ability to explain what you sense motivates teams and takes clients on career-defining experiences.


  • Lead team from brief development through final deliverable
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to identify client requirements
  • Lead key-client sell-in moments including workshop facilitation, training and delivery approvals
  • Collaborate with Brand Director to implement service delivery strategy, and with project management team to establish deliverables and timelines that ensure quality
  • Evaluate project success and provide recommendations to client for future engagement based on data-driven insights
  • Manage team growth in specific skill sets (e.g., discovery techniques, calls to action, etc.), providing strategic thinking and client communication partnership, aligned with individual long-term career goals
  • Work with CEO and services team on continued innovation of our methodology


  • Bachelor's degree; Design, Marketing or Communications preferred
  • 10 years of experience, agency and corporate sector
  • Management experience (10+ people) leading and growing cross-functional teams
  • Experienced in selling and delivering a service, not a product
  • Strategic thinker who can manage multiple projects effectively, evaluate problems and display sound judgment
  • Proven ability to motivate, engage and work collaboratively at all levels, despite ambiguity
  • Hands-on experience following a creative process applied to marketing, digital and brand engagement challenges
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data, and feedback; develop appropriate strategies to achieve goals and objectives; and implement strategies.
  • Executive-level presentation skills in small and large groups.
  • Flexibility to travel as necessary, up to 30%

This is a full-time position based in Portland, Oregon.
