Community Centered Design Contractor

Location: Portland, OR

Type: Contracted

Min. Experience: Mid Level

We’re all about the people. We’re a design firm for relationships, helping organizations to deepen relationships with their communities to succeed in today’s connected world. Unleashing your community’s collective potential, is the surest path to increase innovation, stakeholder buy-in, brand engagement and market intelligence. Our work inspires communities across a multitude of sectors around the globe for clients such as Vulcan, California Pizza Kitchen, The Knight Foundation, The Rainforest Alliance and The Rockefeller Foundation. Teammates at Context Partners are bright, witty, and flexible - not to mention we are dog lovers. We genuinely enjoy each other’s company and we push each other to be our best selves professionally.

Your natural curiosity enables you to expertly explore, engage, or design for our clients' communities. Whether you are fascinated by ethnography, studying the culture of a community, or the social meaning behind behavior - you can expertly work with people in any setting. Fueled by information and your creativity, maybe you channel those towards solutions or deftly engage the community and client towards success and effective results. You are analytical, able to synthesize a lot information quickly, and have a high level of attention to detail.

You are an excellent communicator and thought partner. You know how to uncover the realities and aspirations of a community and align them to client and project goals. You have experience working with people from all backgrounds and feel at home in a corporate setting as well as the nonprofit world. You are at ease collaborating with staff and clients at all levels. You are an intuitive listener, great at connecting with individuals and capable of stepping back and understanding the community as a whole.

You thrive in ambiguity, but know how to slice through chaos and quickly identify priorities and action steps. You are a flexible thinker and can go from analytical thinking to creative solution finding to “rapid fire” problem solving, depending on the situation. You are pro-active, collaborative, and deadline-oriented. You can work independently as well as in a team environment. If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you!
